Why Use A Blog?

A blog can provide Hannaford ministry leaders with an excellent communication tool. It is an interactive webpage that can be update either using your browser OR even by sending an email - no special software or programming knowledge is needed.

Once you have become an "authorized user", you can add new entries (these are called posts) by either logging into the Blogger website or by simply sending an email to your "Blogger" email. The posts are then added in reverse chronological order. Readers can also leave comments about your posts (see the word "comments" at the end of this post - like most features, comment can be disabled). Your own ministry blog is a great way to make announcements and leave critical information for other ministry participants. As the number of posts grow, new pages with the older posts will be added to the web log.

In the sidebar (to the right) many other tools can be added to enahnce your blog. You can do this yourself, or they can be done by the Hannaford Web Administrator. Such items that can be added:

  • Your ministry name and a short description.
  • Links to web pages relevant to your ministry.
  • An archive calendar which marks the dates of your posts.
  • A registration form where people can enter their email and be notified when you "publish" a new post.
  • There are may more features.
If you would like to activate a blog for your ministry, let us know by contacting the Hannaford Web Administrator from our Contact Us page.
